Black holes may be having an identity crisis
“You’re a wormhole in disguise, oh yes, you are” Was that not how the song went? The existence of these portals to other dimensions has not been proven, but one recent paper suggests that they might have been hiding all along in black holes.
Both would be incredibly dense and have immensely powerful gravitational pulls. However, the difference is that nothing escapes black holes, while wormholes, in theory, should spit anything they swallow back out somewhere across the universe. Some experts believe that studying gamma-ray emissions can prove this theory.
