Objects this massive shouldn’t exist
2020 was a year full of surprises, if you know what we mean. Astrophysicists also stumbled into a phenomenon they had never witnessed before. One that, according to theory, should’ve been impossible: a black hole collision of unheard-of proportions.
Each one of those bad boys had an estimated mass 85 times that of the sun, and after fusing, they created a new black hole that was almost 150 times heavier than our solar overlord. One that size had never been detected before!
